Understanding the Basic Truth of Eternal Life (Part 3)

As we continue to seek understanding on the permissive conditions that exist within a creature before a tragic fall, we have accumulated some conclusions. I am not giving reference to the common failures of man. I do believe if we better understand where the enemy’s deceptive strategies thrive, we will become more aware of where he tries to negate against us, the redeemed. Let us recognize some fundamental and foundational truths that are often deemed unimportant to acknowledge. We want to continue to find answers as to why Lucifer, the anointed cherub, had an eternal fall from the very presence of God in heaven. We also want to have a deeper understanding on why the fall of Lucifer, as well as the fall of mankind, both happened in the presence of God. We know that Lucifer, the serpent, had influential power over Eve in the first known place of God’s creation. He used the written word, which is eternal. Can the written word be misinterpreted, causing a massive fall from eternal life into a spiraling hell of death? The answer is clearly, yes. Let us learn by analyzing several things.

The only overpowering source over death, darkness, and evil, must be eternal, having accomplished victory over all opposition throughout all eternity. This foundational life source is eternal in nature and eternal in existence. It must have outlived a framework of continued endurance so vast and powerful that it cannot be conquered by any form of opposition. It would have to be a superpower to overcome all sources of destruction that age, revolt, compromise—one that eccentric opposition cannot taint or destroy. It would have the power to triumph over any obstacle or enemy or anything that would oppose in any way. It would have to be an almighty powerful force called eternal life! We have a name for this being: Elohim, meaning, God, The Eternal Creator!

This eternal life must be made available to receive as a resource to live by or else all would be doomed in death. This eternal existence was created for the purpose of relationship with created man in the beginning. The one who holds the title of eternal life has framed a created time substance He called the beginning. He created this beginning for Himself to express His glory before all that exists. We humbly confess that we have been created within this timeframe to reveal His glory to the entire creation on earth as it is in heaven!

Everything that has a beginning is not eternal unless it is imputed from one who is eternal. This eternal being, God Elohim, is the highest of all because He is eternal. So, there is none higher, none more holy. He is proclaimed King of eternity! I confess and acknowledge Elohim as the only God and that He has a Son and a Spirit who are holy and complete within the eternity that He inhabits, and that He is entirely predominant and the master chief of all eternity! All subordinates that He created were or are part of His Kingdom. This King of eternal life is found as the only truth.  This truth has been given through Him who holds the title of truth in whom we find the name Yeshua—Jesus. Hallelujah!

As we all understand by faith, God is the creator of all life. God translated portions of that life at the creation in the beginning. For this to happen, God had to first separate light from darkness. Life-form after the creation comes from a seed, not so with death. Death seeks to destroy life and it is a complete enemy at all times. Life and death are forces of extreme opposites. They cannot mix in any way because one gives life and light and the other death and darkness. One builds with creativity from a seed that spurts life, and the other always seeks to dominate with evil death against life, conception, love, creation, and many more attributes of God. 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

We, as saints of Elohim, are imputed with the just requirement of Elohim’s eternal righteousness by faith in the only provision, the one sacrificial lamb, the Messiah who conquered all death. The acceptance of this truth is Abrahamic faith. Abraham is the father of all them that believe. This is where we are part of a kingdom in complete conflict with fallen Lucifer, the once-anointed angel, serving among the highest in ranks.

This is the limit of my space constraints for this letter. I will sign off with the verse that will lay the foundation for the next message.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

How are the Mighty Fallen? (Part 2)

How can a heavenly anointed angel living in the presence of Almighty God, fall from his assigned place and function and end up spending eternity in Hell, completely banished from The Creator and Holy God? How can one third of Heaven’s holy angels fall in chaos and be thrown into the same pit? How are the mighty fallen?

When man comes to a place of independence and needlessness, he declares himself self-sufficient, needing no-one to draw from. Independence is very dangerous; this is why God placed a head over the body which is called the body of Christ. This placement in the body of Christ brings the purpose of many gifts that function as assistances and servants to one another.

The rage of this century’s modern church is to make leaders; it places everyone in a position of importance and demands output and skills to preserve its physique. Many of these leaders are not disciples. You can be a great leader and know nothing of servanthood. Leadership is not spiritual nor is it required. Kingdom servanthood is spiritual and it is what Jesus instructed us to attain to. The escalation of the two is an obvious contrast. Leaders go up and need no cross, while servants go downward which is the work of the cross. This push of the teachings of synthetic motivational intellectualism, or leadership, is one that can never be confused with true cross-bearing discipleship. The Webster definition of intellectualism is: the exercise of the intellect at the expense of the emotions. This is where it becomes a doctrine that is extremely dangerous to spiritual church structure. There is a significant difference between being made a leader and being made a disciple. I completely believe that the anointing from the Holy Spirit is the strength that makes effective kingdom servants. David was anointed king long before he was a king. He had to learn servant-hood next to the jealous anointed king.

I understand the writings in Ezekiel 31 to point to Lucifer’s fall from influence because of his greatness. He “shot up” because of the large river that watered him. Ezekiel 31:7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters. V.9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him. The pride of Lucifer produced an element of envy in the smaller trees in the garden. Does one’s envy produce a defense of pride, or does pride produce a dominance that causes someone to envy?

It is the accuser toward someone’s ego that acknowledges his own ego. It is an almost perfect analogy to conclude: that which one accuses in another, is also a proficient problem in the accuser himself. This rule of resemblance seldom fails. How are the mighty fallen? Is it the secret tangling of envy against pride? I do understand this to have been the cause of the fall of Lucifer and one third of the angels. This gives us a glimpse of understanding into why the kingdom of darkness is divided against itself.

We learn it to be of great importance that any disciple of Christ under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, guard themselves against pride in spiritual gifting. This is why we need to understand God’s chastening and buffeting at times. 1 Peter 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. The problem is that God does not set us down and inform us that we will now be chastened or buffeted. Herein is often a great misunderstanding in the saint. There is no one so perfect that he does not make mistakes. Everyone does so and to be buffeted for it is seldom a season of encouragement. It is to be taken with patience, knowing that all will be well again one day. We also need to discern whether it is Satan the accuser, or Jesus the chastiser.

The sovereignty of God uses these measures to keep His mighty servants of valor from a complete fall. Herein lies the making of true disciples. This element of truth is where Lucifer could not bow because of the strength of his pride. He could not yield his position as any lower than God’s placement for him.

The carnal instincts of man always fight for position rather than yielding to assignment. When one’s eyes focus on self-desired position, as in pride of leadership, he loses his assignment and a fall becomes imminent. Our eyes can never desire position. Position is what Lucifer desired and he even threatened to take God’s seat from Him.

2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election stable: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Understanding the Fall of the Mighty (Part 1)

One of the ways to understand the enemy is to know from where he has fallen, and what is his agenda. In the following few messages I would like to bring some understanding on this subject. I believe it has a certain importance, that our lack of knowledge does not destroy us.

In Ezekiel 31 we clearly read how Pharaoh, King of Egypt, fell from his position among the nations. In verse four it says the waters made him great and his feeding program went out and watered all the trees of the garden. It says that the abundance of water shot him up into the heavens and caused all the fowls of heaven to make their nests in his towering branches. Some have understood the fowls of the air to be subordinates under the assignment of certain influences, perhaps being evil in nature. This king-tree was so great that under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

Ezekiel 31:7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters. V.8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. V.9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

This was by far the greatest, highest, and most magnificent tree in Eden—the garden of God, yet it is speaking about the fall of the Egyptian king. God made him fair by his many branches which caused two significant things to happen. It brought envy from all the smaller trees in the garden, and his heart was lifted into heights beyond his calling. This is the problem with all kingdom conflict to this very day. If this tree was God-created and pomp in stature, why then did it go wrong? Was envy or pride the problem?  Both are attuned to each other and yet are enemy companions that bring down some of God’s greatest habitations of the Holy Spirit in a person or in the body of Christ. This happens in heavenly places and it took Lucifer, the anointed one, right out of Heaven and directly into the Hell of his future pit along with a third of the angels. Why did a third of the angels fall? Was it that they envied his place? I believe so. This is the reason there is so much chaos in the kingdom of darkness. They are not one with each other at all. I am not aware that we read anywhere that Satan persuaded the one third to be against God, but we understand that they fell with him. Pride of position and envy for position are the greatest of opposing forces and they destroy more kingdom unity than anything I know. One feeds the other, like Ahab feeds Jezebel and Jezebel feeds Ahab. It is raw Hell-strength against the body of Christ. Consider the suggestion of the serpent to Eve in the garden. God knows that if you eat you will be like God, knowing good and evil. Eve ate, thinking it could escalate her to a higher position.

Can God make something so great that it turns against Him? Can greatness, importance, and prominence destroy a man even if God brought him to that place? Can destruction come by voluntary humility as was the case with the mighty Pharisees?  V.18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and his entire multitude, saith the Lord God.

How can a created angel adorned with anointing and God’s own holiness, fall and become a hell-devil destroying nations, lands, and multitudes that God made for Himself? How in all of God’s intended creation is this possible? The word is a complex and yet simple one—pride. Does this have anything to do with the pursuit of self-power, self-dependence or self-righteousness? Somehow, Lucifer came to a place where he thought himself needless of dependence. He thought himself equal with God, and furthermore proclaimed that he will be like God and sit in the seat of God. Even the king of Egypt from the garden needed no one else.

Was there a Pharaoh of Egypt way before there was Egypt? The answer seems to be yes. Why was Daniel’s prayer hindered for 21 days by a ruling king of Persia while Daniel was praying from Babylonian territory far away? Are there kings set over things that are invisible, having territorial dominance in the heavens? We might never know all the spiritual technicalities nor understand the oracles of God. However, this is what Lucifer is—he is a legal expert and knows the Word of God far better than many humans.

The root word for Lucifer means: a light-bearer, morning-star. The position, importance, and anointing that he once held is obvious. He had brilliance and intensity so great that it got his attention off his purpose, even in the very presence of God. He considered himself at once to be invincible. He considered himself not in need of God but rather independent of God. He thought himself in a place where he could neither be wrong nor go wrong.

He did it all because he became gifted and of high stature. God made him in that specific way. “I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.” Can we now see a purpose with Paul’s thorn in the flesh?

Understanding God’s Love

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Who has ever denied love from someone? Love is almost always understood as being synonymous with the word ‘accepted’ yet they are not the same at all.

We live in an era where there is much talk about the Father’s love. Books have been written by the thousands about a wooing kind of love from the Father. What I have repeatedly seen in this explanation of love is that it is seemingly a “wow” experience and then vanishes after some months and the same difficulties resurface. The true love that comes from Heaven is not intended to leave people in the same condition of sin and bondage that they were in when Christ received them. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Our old nature, which is not friendly toward those we esteem higher than us, had to be won by someone becoming lower than us. This was the true remedy for the pitiful human race without exemption. This person was the Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

In God’s love for the lost and dying creation, His desire was to bring back this entire fallen state of humanity and restore them back to Him. 1 Peter 2:9 Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a separated people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous light:

This Christ-appointed plan of salvation to bring about restoration to children lost in darkness and deteriorating eternal defeat, is a plan of superior royalty. It is a plan of restoration and reconstruction. The cost of restoration is one of the greatest conflicting phenomenons in a Christian’s life. This process often starts while we are yet carnal and see little through spiritual eyes.

This season of reconstruction and restoration has a major character component in which we suffer great loss within our personality. Many cannot accept this marvelous work from the love of the Father. This transformational event within the true believer is so dramatic in different phases of the Master’s process, that most fail the test and hold the hand of God away from them in utter disappointment. This is the exact reason that most Christians never come to a place of spiritual usefulness. The loss and rebukes are considered too destructive. The result: there can be no rebuilding unto spiritual royalty. Becoming a servant of God in continual surrender without offense is the only way God can and will bring someone into Heavenly places in Christ. Many would even agree with this very statement, yet could never endure the love-chastening of God. The intensities of such deep valleys of sorrow can only be endured by those who refuse to become offended in God or in each other.

When Jesus looked into the eyes of Peter and said, “Get thou behind me Satan”, Peter needed no explanation of what was just said. Today, this would be the offence that would establish a new church. Peter did not argue, he was not offended; he was not hurt, he did not run away, he did not blame nor did he plead his cause to anyone. The difference between the multitudes of Christians today and the early Christians, is that they were disciples. What God wants to do in every believer is to make them disciples.

In our modern times, we do not want to be disciples, we want to be leaders. We find our own opinions to be of great importance. This is one of the delusions that Satan has inputted into the church of the day. This breeds a generation of impatient people that defer the sufferings of Christ. This delusional state of being restores nothing within the heart of the believer. This carnality will never bring any Christian to the maturity of God’s heavenly intention. We continue as babes stumbling on milk and remain untouchable, while we should be teachers. The immature state of most professors of Christ is a very sad condition. We must understand that the purpose of receiving God’s love is for restoration of the deprived soul. God chastens and scourges those whom He loves.

May I then receive the Father’s love so that I can live a life free from all offence and misunderstandings. A disciple of Christ will not fail when rebuked. Why? He is a disciple and has not claim but to his Master and true fellow saints. The Lord is not easy on those whom He truly loves, however it is with royal, heavenly purpose!

Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: V.6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. V.7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? V.8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Discerning Tribulation

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. We will all go through tribulation, but let us never neglect to understand the purpose. Could it be that it is because God is jealous over His possession? Can tribulation be punishment, or a way to draw us back to Him?

Does God have a right to be jealous? After all, everything has been made by Him and for Him. He created it all and has the absolute legal documents: “The Word”, for total ownership to everything that is. When God sees a nation or people walk away from Him he does not close His eyes with blindness. He has a plan for redemption that might come into view as a detour to man at times. We must not forget His jealousy for His people and for everything that is intended for Him. Deuteronomy 4:24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. Within that jealousy there is a fount of love that consumes and a desire so deep that He was willing to see His dearest Son, martyred; providing a way to get back a creation that had gone off completely into a fallen kingdom of destructive evil, right from the presence of God.

At times, God offers ways to bring back those who abandon faith and faithfulness that seem so difficult. At other times, it seems God just lets them go. A backslidden child of God goes through much deeper things than that which meets the eye of the saint. He goes through a long period where he feels so rejected by God. He strengthens himself with blame and imaginations to justify his own failure. Things get gloomy within the heart, so dreadfully that there is almost no sense of God anywhere. Sin now becomes a way of life. Guilt and sorrow are covered over with new desires to satisfy the abandoned presence of God. Some throw themselves deeper into work and things to entertain their troubled heart.

Many seek for hope everywhere except turning back to God because Satan has caused them to believe there is no hope of returning. This form of tribulation is a torment that blinds spiritual trust found only in Christ. This loneliness of false hope found in things other than Christ sustains nothing but difficulty in the midst of deteriorating adversity. Backslidden mankind must at once be honest and declare an end to this destructive path. This path is filled with sorrow and abandonment from God’s presence. We must wake from our sleep and take responsibility for what is happening. Blame cannot rule our life nor can hurts be nurtured any longer.

There are two kinds of tribulation. One “worketh patience” as well as endurance and will draw you closer to God, enriching your faith – though it is also very difficult. This kind will never drive you from God. Oh yes, it will cause you many questions and deep despair at times. My observation for many years is that Christians don’t care much to have an understanding of why they go through tribulation. It is extremely important to recognize which one is being experienced. There is a world of difference between the two. The one is an endearment to Christ; the other tribulation is a form of punishment that is not chastening from the Lord.

One of the ways to gain understanding as to which one we are experiencing is to recognize its origin. Was it after a spiritual breakthrough or great move of God where this all began?  Was there a violation committed of any principle in the Bible? I have observed many times that people do not discern what God is saying while going through tribulation. Some battle and strive to conquer while it continues to fall apart all around them. These are people in disobedience that have caused their own demise, insisting on their own folly. This is a brutal condition and it will take the form of a brazen gloomy cast of helplessness and darkness over the person. This type of tribulation is often the result of us causing trouble against God’s people.

In the following verses, we read about the two different kinds of tribulation. 2 Thessalonians 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: V.5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: V.6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

The holy and spiritual kind is designed to bring patience and faith, and is mostly accompanied by persecution for right doing. It is one thing to suffer for righteousness sake and completely another thing to suffer for wrong doing. As we go through so many difficult things in our lives, let us always seek to be clear on why we face tribulation. Is it because of obedience or disobedience?

The Emanation of the Heart

God has been teaching me to walk with greater carefulness in the company of people who have tendencies to tear down the character of fellow believers. I have been very careful with what kind of friendship I nurture. Someone having a constant expression of complaints under the disguise of sharing a burden contains a poison too dangerous for me to interact with. If the fingers always point out you can be assured that there are problems within that are self-justified and toxic.

I understand that there are times of such despair in difficulty when a person shares his heart. It is when these tendencies are constant and the patterns are continual that I find a nature very destructive to the life of the Holy Spirit within. Most have learned to recognize this emanation and to either guard against it or embrace it. Some people have very little genuine wholesome encouragement to emanate. Others are overflowing with strength that brings joy, hope, and blessing. Sometimes meeting someone in a store and sharing a short conversation can change your entire day. Why is this so influential?

Things spoken from the heart are vastly more effective. There are those who have their knowledge encased in the book of intellectualism that they convey only with the desire to impress. The effectiveness of such content seldom builds up spiritual health for the man of God. It is designed to impress the weak and grieve the Holy Spirit within the believer.

Isaiah prophesied about the coming Messiah and stated that He will judge a righteous judgment. Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; V.3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Christ’s example of how the Holy Spirit manifests His true judgment, is also the method that every believer needs to have confidence in through faith and not by sight. This truth of being an active participant through such depth of holiness within the character of mankind is the element of transformation we all must experience before there can be any accuracy in judgment. Here it becomes apparent that man cannot conclude by merely seeing or hearing.

This wonderful truth is a great challenge that every believer needs to embrace with sincerity and zeal. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding with counsel and might has to be given residence in our heart. Not the spirit of imagination and exploration. When the Holy Spirit has such powerful preeminence and protection within the believer, his imaginational judgment and perception of others is concealed. Oh, may this be found in me lest I think falsely of others redeemed by the same blood of Jesus.

Many times, I have prayed: God, set a watch on my lips. But now I pray: God set a watch on my eyes and ears. We know that the mouth speaks that which is in the heart, so the heart needs fervent, attentive protection! Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Now we understand that life’s issues are within the heart. We also know that the heart is desperate to be wicked and is ranked as the most fraudulent tool that we have. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? This fact as described by God must be the perfect understanding of our God toward mankind. This needs to invoke a sobering dilemma within the saint of God! Oh, how desperately I need a deeper work of the Holy Spirit within my heart! I cannot live one minute without Him!

If I am deprived of His greater presence, than I have become a monster of judgment toward everyone by what I hear and see. Seeing and hearing are the daily functions of many who are professors of Christianity. Oh, Spirit of grace and love, may you lead me into the darkness of eyes and deafness of hearing from the tongue of man, lest I know not that which you want me to understand. I long for your presence in my eyes and in my ears lest I curse and not bless! John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Oh, Lord, change within me daily that which pollutes your work and word. Remind me of the more important things heaven wants me to know and be. Let me not despise those who you accept. Cover my eyes with love and my ears with your holiness lest my heart becomes defiled and I emanate hell and not heaven, life and not death.

Romans 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Do My Prophets No Harm

Psalm 105:15 Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

It seems that the church at large has not benefited much from the gift of the prophets in the last 60 years. There is, however, a multitude of pastors who have made mega-profits in today’s churches. When the true prophets are harmed, the church turns into a social club where sports become the excitement—replacing the Holy Spirit’s presence and the thirst after righteousness. A place filled with many programs for every class of persuasion where everyone can be at ease. The church has to be responsible for everyone now.

The home has lost its calling to raise and teach its children because we spend our spare time benefiting our own affections in activities that are self-extolling. We have designed our lives to be proactive for our self, and passive with God. It is easy to criticize God’s people, and yet we idolize corrupt sports figures without hesitation. We praise and admire the wicked and pass judgment on the holy. The wicked can easily be praised and the holy can be willfully debilitated with glee.

It is in the middle of this unreceptive environment called “church” that the true prophet calls people back to God. He speaks with his life first, and refuses to entangle himself with the activities that require no cross. He is on unfamiliar territory where Jesus is not the theme. His clumsy conversation offers no thrill to the popular trends of personal attainment among that which is highly esteemed among men. Why is he so out of touch with the stars of Hollywood and sports? Because he is in touch with the holiness of Heaven. The gift of a prophet is hidden in his burden.

I have met many people in my 30-plus years of ministry who have called themselves prophets; but I have never met a prophet of God who called himself a prophet. Many of these self-proclaimed prophets are not gifted from God but have a natural untamed ability to be reckless and bold with their own preferences. The modern church-world has accustomed themselves to calling a certain bold untamed personality a prophet. These are not prophets from God. The prophets of God do not fit this description at all. Being a true prophet of God is not based on a natural gift or weakness of character. It is based on a gift that comes from the Holy Spirit. New Testament prophets are not accusers or finger pointers. They point us to God with the anointing of conviction and wooing.

Let us be aware of prophets that seek to disrupt and to undo the workings of God in clever ways. The Bible is quite clear that these can even do miracles and that there are many of them. Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. These prophets are false and they have agendas like wolves. They create chaos; they tear up the sheep but are disguised in clothing that appears mild and humble. The clothing is fashioned in the disguise of burden-like substance. The word “ravening” means they are excessively rapacious to disrupt, destroy, and undo that which God has done or is doing. All we are asked to do with such is to be aware of them. They can become your enemy in a second!

Why are we not to harm the true prophets of God? Firstly, they operate and function under God’s authority. They are not roaming lions. They are subjected and balanced with wisdom that is alone from God. God will never let the Holy Spirit’s call and gift become unauthorized. The submission is why it carries so much power and authority. It is the order that God chose to operate all His gifts and callings under. Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. V.2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

If we harm the prophets of God, we harm the message they share concerning returning to faith and love toward God. A harmed prophet will no more have the message to bring back that which is lost. That sound of heaven that draws the church back to persistence is gone. When the prophet of God is harmed, the church will love the world. The love and fear of God will vanish quickly without the people even knowing until it has become a dreadful situation. It is easy to quote God’s prophets of the past and just as easy to destroy God’s prophets in our presence. The anointed we do not touch, the prophets we do not harm!

Matthew 23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. V. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Touch Not Mine Anointed

Before we can fully understand the commandment to not touch God’s anointed, we must understand what the anointing of God is and how it operates. Many have a vague understanding of the anointing of God upon certain people. One of the more general ideas of what the anointing of the Holy Spirit is and how it operates is the way it presents itself through public speaking. Most define the anointing of God as a phenomenon that emanates a thrilling presentation with charisma. To some it is thought of as the way someone handles his voice with efficiency and pragmatic presentation. While this may be a small fraction of wisdom from the anointing, it is not even close to the depth of its significance. The anointing by God upon someone’s life has a position and assignment of servanthood to His specific function: to accomplish and retain His purpose and glory to mankind.

If our understanding on the anointing is as shallow as a specific way the Word of God is presented, then we do not understand the way God sets His order in His kingdom on earth. There is a dire need in the church of our day to understand God’s order in the body of Christ. If we have no clear understanding on what the anointing of the Holy Spirit is, then it is easy to violate in touching of God’s anointed and feel justified. The misinterpretation and natural understanding of God’s anointing will often result in a violation, by touching God’s anointed in times of personal annoyance or offense. With a shallow concept of what the anointing of the Holy Spirit is, we can easily understand why so many people can fearlessly bring tragic impairment to God’s anointed.

The anointing of God upon someone’s life goes extravagantly deeper than the way someone presents themselves in public speaking. The anointing of the Holy Spirit comes from a fountain so deep that most could not contain its responsibility without falling into utter despair. The anointing of God is a decision that the Godhead made in the election of a person for divine service and spiritual authority; to operate and propagate God’s word, will, and influence among a people.

The kingdom of God is in the divine hand of the Heavenly Father operating as King over all. Jesus operates as the Head of the church and the Holy Spirit emanates the life of the Father and Son upon the servants of God. This anointing upon the life of a person will convey and maintain truth, righteousness, holiness, and the miraculous power from God. It will bring and maintain a healthy fear of God among God’s people. This is the order of God from the Garden of Eden until now. This order was resisted when Lucifer challenged Almighty God while in His very presence. The fallen angel Lucifer has not ceased his resistance or his rebellion to this day. Just as the anointed Lucifer influenced one third of heaven’s angels against God, similarly he will achieve his influence upon some on earth. Just because someone has had a certain anointing, this does not make him unsusceptible to the resistance of God’s true order.

When someone touches this anointing which God has placed upon His servant, they break the hand of God upon His order and there is instant chaos. Truth will fall in the streets. Now unrighteousness is considered righteous. Holiness and the love of God pass like a fleeting shadow. The absence of God’s miraculous power becomes the accuser’s song. The presence of God will be replaced by the natural activities of the mind.

The penalties of touching God’s anointed include many terrible consequences. Once Satan executes a successful attempt to touch and wound the purpose of the anointing, things will in most cases never return to being as before. The one whom Satan uses to touch God’s anointed will suffer with inner issues and spiritual fallout that is blistering with condemnation and insults so destructive that some desire to die. Can someone ultimately recover from such tragedy? I cannot answer. There is a reason that we are taught by God not to touch His anointed and walk with carefulness among them.

Somehow there is a sense of reason that everyone is on the same platform of service unto God. Let us not forget the reasoning of Lucifer. He offered the same thoughts; he actually thought himself to be higher than God. Miriam thought she was just as spiritual as Moses, but disguised herself with the fault she found in the woman Moses was married to. Perhaps Miriam was a very spiritual woman; however, she was not called nor anointed to walk where he walked. Korah had spiritual insights until a hole opened beneath him. After the anointing of God upon a person has been touched and the unction broken, God often uses that servant for some other work for His glory. In my studies I have found it is here that God gives them a ministry in a place where the anointing will be jeopardized no longer. These are His anointed and they are His prophets. They are not ours. God has placed a trust in these fellows that only His foreknowledge could secure.

1 Chronicles 16:22 Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Psalm 105:15 Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

The Ministry of Silence

The natural man that tries to be spiritual has un-crucified ambitions that cannot find foundational rest. He will fight a fight that is not of faith, demonstrating a lingering need within which he does not recognize. The problem repeatedly shown is a difficult disability called ability. This personal ability is incredibly detrimental to the spiritual ability that God considers to be ministry in His servants.

The personally capable and self-righteous man will be haunted with thoughts that cannot find rest until the self-esteemed monster is personally gratified. His restless mind is perpetually filled with thoughts such as:

What can I do?

Let’s do something.

I can do it better.

I wish they would just ask me.

If only they would hear my opinion.

I see the picture clearer than anyone.

It’s easy.

Many self-relating thoughts of personal ambition become a haunting reality of personal frustration when this person is around spiritual people. The thoughts of a spiritual man are not: let’s get it done, but rather: how is God glorified? Performance is a constant pressure and annoyance to the self-made man. The spiritual man might seem to get much less done in the eyes of man, but God is greatly glorified.

May we take a careful look at several ministries of silence in the Bible which speak incredible volumes?

JACOB, after having accomplished countless masterful things in his many years of living, resorted to a final moment of deep unconditional surrender to the point that he had a change of name. God requested this change because of the dramatic internal change that occurred at the moment in Jabok.

Jacob was done with Jacob! Jacob was sick of Jacob! Jacob was tired of Jacob and all his great abilities! With all the things that Jacob did in his life, there were only two specific things so magnificent that his name and faith were placed in the highest category of Biblical faith.

Hebrews 11:21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. Many professing Christians have such a shallow notation concerning this great and important revelation of Jacob. If not for his right hand upon Joseph’s son Ephraim, we would not be included in the Messiah’s salvation. Ephraim is Israel. Ephraim had a mother from Egypt and a father from Israel. This mix of races could never have the blessing of the Messiah until Jacob’s hands crossed even while his natural eyes failed. God simply needed that moment with Jacob’s hands to fulfill His will on the lost sheep of the house of Israel, which is us, the mixed race Ephraim.

One last token of great faith was a very difficult one that few can ever surrender to and be at rest. Jacob worshipped leaning upon a stick. The word worship here means to fully and deeply surrender all forms of strength and even the ability to walk alone. When the top of a stick becomes strength to walk with, you have even lost your own walking capability outside of divine help. This is where the spiritual man walks. These two things were the greatest spiritual achievements in the life of Jacob.

We want to consider the silent ministry of MARY. John 12:3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. V.4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him, V.5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? Mary anointed Jesus’ feet with seemingly all she had earned and poured it from a bottle that had to be broken in order to pour from it. She did it without a spoken word. The aroma filled the entire room with this glorious offering. It ministered to Jesus in a way that nothing could at that time. The anointing was from a spiritual woman that foresaw the death of Jesus. The only one who spoke was Judas; he was entirely critical of her ministry of anointing. Judas wanted the money to go to the poor rather than precious wholesome ointment upon the life of Jesus.

When the end of all time has come upon us, there will be a great reckoning. In Matthew 25:32-39, Jesus divides the sheep from the goats and calls the sheep to their inheritance. Jesus said, You ministered to me while I was naked, sick, hungry, thirsty, a stranger, in prison. The ministry of silence again was not even obvious or noticeable enough to be recognized by the ones who had this spiritual ministry. The righteous sheep questioned in full surprise saying that they never even knew that they did such a thing or even saw Jesus in this manner.

This is where the Lord showed me clearly that the spiritual ministry from the sheep is to Jesus. Mathew 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. God’s spiritual people are the least. Have you ministered to them ointments of healing and aromatic silence? Then you have ministered to Jesus.

Set Under Authority

Someone stopped by my residence in the past week who made a statement that astonished me. He was talking about his job and the boss he works under. He said that the general manager of the company understands authority but the owner has no idea what authority is. This type of business owner puts a manager in place, then tries to rule through them. People like this cause turmoil and all kinds of confusion and strangle the organizational flow from top to bottom. This type of person has a detrimental issue deep within. It is created by mistrust that is fashioned within, from the problem of not feeling valued. There are many small business owners that can never grow a company on a healthy larger platform because of this problem of control. These people reign in suspicion which comes from deep personal pride. Proprietors such as this cause disorganization everywhere that they function when it involves more than a handful of people. They have all the answers for everyone else yet have great personal depravity and are dysfunctional icons.

There was a certain centurion’s servant who was important and dear to his master but he lay sick and dying while Jesus was in Capernaum. This centurion sent the elders of the Jews to request Jesus to come to heal him. Jesus departed with them to go to the house where the servant was dying. As He came closer to the house, the centurion sent several of his personal friends to meet Jesus and said unto Him:
Luke 7:6 Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: V.7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

The centurion understood something that people only understand once they walk under the submission of authority.

Luke 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. V.9 When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

This astounding statement from the centurion was an expression that so few people are ever humble enough to walk in. Let us gain understanding from this statement of truth. Have you ever wondered why God is not using you much? It can be concluded by a small, powerful statement the centurion made: “SET UNDER AUTHORITY”.  A person will never have more authority than what he is submitted to. The centurion did not have to go to the battle field to fight; the battle was not his to fight. The centurion was in charge of the soldiers, the soldiers were in charge of the battle. The centurion had trust in the soldiers and the soldiers had faith in the centurion. The ancient military chain of command charts a tribute from the king to the general – lieutenants – tribunes – centurion – signifier – soldiers. The final combat was fought by the soldier, yet the battle was won by the king. If the soldier refuses to be on familiar terms with his superior in command via submission, then he will soon become useless or ultimately destroyed by the enemy.

Jesus marveled significantly at the words of the centurion and called it the greatest faith; not seen in all of Israel. The centurion certainly heard the common testimony of Jesus as being a healer. He understood that Jesus heals under authority of a power higher than Himself. This authority was from the Father which is in Heaven. The centurion knew that Jesus was in submission to the Father, because the commands of the Father were being performed through manifested healing throughout Galilee. When the centurion declared Jesus to be Lord, he was automatically placed under His authority and he knew that his servant was under His authority as well. There was only one other thing to do and that was: Jesus, just say the word. Hallelujah!

One important fact must be understood before we can live a life set under spiritual authority: being in our position under the authority over us is not something that happens through our intellectual understanding. Authority is not a matter of comprehended truth, but that of a position of the heart. Positioning under authority does not happen in the mind, it happens in the heart.

There was some other person casting out devils and this was Jesus’ response after they forbade him.

Mark 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. V.40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

Jesus clearly stated that lightly speaking evil against our superior will stop the submission and the flow of Heaven’s blessing. It would do us well to recognize who God has set us under. Am I missing the link? Am I set under authority? May we take heed to the blessing of submission!

Romans 13:01 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. V.2 whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. V.13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
