Shepherded – Part 3

Deeper understanding of the kingdom of God is missed by so many due to spiritual shallowness, irreverence, and inconsistency in the fear of God. Psalm 25:14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant. (Emphasis added.) Here we see there are secrets that God only reveals to those who fear Him. Walking in the fear of the Lord is the place where true wisdom begins to permeate the child of God through revelation concerning covenant-living. This wisdom is imputed holiness and righteousness that dwells among true followers of God. A fundamental responsibility placed upon the child of the kingdom is discerning the body of Christ and its earthly function.

Many attempt to fulfill their earthly function through using worldly mindsets and strategies to corner true sheep, or even good shepherds that have given their life for the flock of God. We are experiencing signs of the closing age more than ever before. The roaring lion is out in full force unleashing his tools of demise on those who are vulnerable creatures of prey without the nature of a lamb or sheep. This age of rebellion is so deceptive that even these targeted victims do not realize that their plight is disobedience to God and His kingdom principles. Only the true sheep know the difference between the fox or the prophet (shepherd). Ezekiel 13:3 Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! V.4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. The true shepherds hear from God, but foxes work to outsmart and snoop around seeking out every little splinter they can use to pierce a tender heart within the faithful and truthful.

The truth and glory of being shepherded is in opening the heart in submission and humility to the correction and perfection of the loving hands of God. The selfish desires of serving our own will God cannot use. Our will must be shepherded into a deep surrender through which His love can be manifested. Even the perfect Lamb of God could not perform His own will. This perfect Lamb found His will to be a plea for the removal of the bitter cup that night in Gethsemane. Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. This submission of the Lamb of God enabled Him to become the Shepherd of all shepherds. This same truth now is the way in which shepherds are formed for the true sheep of the flock of God. The shepherded child of God begins as a lamb and transitions into a mature sheep and, if God chooses, can then also become a useful servant of unfeigned obedience to the call and will of God. There are some who esteem themselves as shepherds but have never found the courage to allow true discipleship to form their life. They maintain the nature of foxes with ideas to outsmart and outdo one another so as to draw sheep after themselves. These are not true shepherds and are very dangerous.

John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. V.2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. A true shepherd is one who enters in by the door and does not lead where he has never been nor speaks what is not in his own heart. Certainly, there are those who have climbed the walls by learning how to do things in their own way, but they never became a true lamb or sheep walking with a shepherd next to them. These have never learned the Shepherd’s voice because they know not the life of a lamb; they are thieves and will eventually pursue sheep-robbery. I cannot stress enough the value and ultimate importance of desiring true life-surrendering discipleship. It is only a lamb or a true sheep that can embrace soul-correction and spiritual reformation from a human shepherd. Many desire correction directly from Jesus or the Holy Spirit, because it is too humbling to receive discipleship from a fellow human shepherd. However, this is God’s way of wisdom in forming us after His desire. Let us not forget, man will never become a spiritual shepherd unless he has first learned a life of surrender and gone in through the same door of the sheepfold. Who is my earthly shepherd? It is not a book, a CD, a DVD, or broadcast. It is someone you walk with. Hallelujah!

Shepherded – Part 2

As we continue to learn about this subject of shepherding, we see that the description of true disciples is that of individuals transformed by the power and Word of God. This miraculous transformation completely changes the nature of the natural man into a divine nature that is spiritual and realistic. The new nature developed within a person changes him, and he becomes as a sheep desiring the presence of a higher source on whom it can depend. Many sincere children of God carry a deep concern that they would be led by the Spirit of God, which is part of the well-being of the saint. We must embrace this verse Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. With great carefulness we order our steps in the healthy fear of God. The idea that once we are led by the Spirit of God we become sons, is not arranged in the correct succession. Sons of God are led because within them they have an unquenchable desire to be led into a place of trust, following the voice of the Spirit.

From where does the voice of the Spirit proceed? It comes from the Spirit of God and must be discerned regardless through whom it is voiced. True Sons of God have moved beyond their own prejudice concerning whom they perceive to be carriers of His voice. God even used an ass to speak to Balaam. If we are still offended by the carrier of the true voice of God, then we will not be coherent to the sound of His voice and therefore will disregard the importance of being Spirit-led. The true discernment of the vessel being used is in the voice rather than what is spoken. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. As the shepherd knows his sheep so the sheep know his voice. There is clear communication between the shepherd and the sheep. Let us never forget that one of Christ’s very close disciples spoke the words of Satan. He simply questioned the necessity of Jesus’ journey to the cross, and Jesus told Satan to get behind him. The suggestion from Satan through Peter was life without death; the voice of the Holy Spirit is life through death. The Holy Spirit brought spiritual glorification through resurrection in the body of Jesus after He died (never to die again).

The voice of the Spirit is what we must trust because it does not change. Man can change and camouflage their intention, but the tone, voice, and purpose simply cannot be disguised when it comes from the Holy Spirit. John 18:37 says that everyone that is of truth heareth His voice. Here we understand that if a man does not dwell in truth about himself and is living a counterfeit life, then he will not hear the voice of the Spirit of God. It is only the pure heart that receives tuning, like an instrument of music, on a constant basis. Abiding sin, preconceived ideas, and even dislikes will obstruct us from acknowledging the voice of the Holy Spirit.

True sheep are led by a voice that changes them. A great eternal division is described at the end of time; there will be a clear dividing. The dividing line is drawn between sheep and goats. Always be aware of loners in the kingdom. Through years of experience, I consider those who have not been under the spiritual care of a pastor to be dangerous people who are tossed, taken, and led by self—ruled by a deep root of some bitterness. These people are not clothed in true righteousness and holiness. Because of the distance they strive to maintain, they will follow those who do not necessitate personal discipleship. True sheep will seek to be discipled on a constant basis and will maintain a close relationship with their shepherd, desiring correction within. This is a healthy day-to-day experience that cannot be maintained by an author from a distance. Writings such as these cannot replace true discipleship and rubbing elbows in maintained relationship with the pastor who watches over your soul. This is God’s way of bringing personal spiritual development and is an absolute necessity for true discipleship. In the book of Jude we find those who have not learned discipleship God’s way. You cannot be discipled by a shepherd you cannot walk with. The disciples of Jesus walked with Him and communicated with Him constantly. Jesus corrected them, and they received His correction—all except the one who betrayed Him. Don’t be that one.

So, being disciples of Christ, we learn to walk under those called to lead and fulfill God’s necessity of discipleship within us. May I conclude further that a person will never add much value in the Kingdom of God, regardless of appearances, until he becomes a sheep who finds no offense in being shepherded? This wisdom is alone by God’s design. Hallelujah!

Shepherded – Part 1

Being shepherded is a very difficult position for most religious individuals to hold. To be divinely shepherded by the great Shepherd requires humble submission and simple obedience. So long as we provide the answers, and find ourselves capable of living them out on our own, we stand in great personal lack in the eyes of our heavenly Shepherd. Along our path of pilgrimage, we often face times and places where we desire to hold onto everything except answers that truly settle our questions.

True sheep rarely know exactly where to go and must almost always be led to secure places. When sheep are led into a building, they are generally incapable of making sensible judgement of where they should go until they are in the sheep stall. Most buildings look dangerous to sheep until they find their stall. The sheep stall can be in a field, valley, or cave; on a hillside, or in a building great or small. You see, the sheep stall is near the presence of the Shepherd and offers a place of peace and safety that no other can offer. Spiritual people will see the parallel in their own lives and the places into which they are led. There is tremendous comfort in being led by a greater hand, unseen, yet trusted. It is a hand of protection, comfort, and peace. So few people understand this experience because they are in charge of their own lives, having their own ambition and controlling their own territory. Matthew 9:36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. It is obvious that there are many who refuse the Shepherd because of an inner condition that resists the unknown.

True sheep don’t possess the need to know, therefore at times they live with so many questions, bringing them into states of perplexity and even bewilderment. God knows that when a sheep is bewildered the Shepherd’s voice will be heard clearly when He speaks. Imagine the weeping of a bewildered lamb, not hearing anything beyond its own cries of mourning, as it strains to hear the sound of a distant shepherd. It seems that often the saints of God mourn for the voice, the touch, and the presence of the Messiah as they gaze into the distance, yet He is next to them in unfelt presence. At once, in a long and lonely valley, the sheep is touched by the invisible hand, hearing that familiar voice of peace and comfort.

Our master Shepherd loves for us to desire Him. He longs for our patience to endure and for our peace to be perfected in Him. He loves to see our joy multiplied as we endure things that are difficult beyond words. Our own understanding is often perplexed and found unfruitful. Our great Shepherd will never leave us, nor will He ever forsake us, but He will cause us to seek after Him. It is in this condition that He can lead us to the streams unknown by goats or those of rebellious nature.

Jesus was led as a lamb to the slaughter and became the Savior of the world. Once the lamb-nature prevails within a saint, they can be led to usefulness beyond measure. The disposition of a lamb is one of following unconditionally because their trust is won, and they never allow distance between them and the Shepherd. The old nature tends to seek answers before it seeks the Shepherd. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are led. The security of this is feared by the majority as too flimsy to live by. When we are being led, the Shepherd is in control. He is being trusted and honored and will therefore lead us in the path of His own righteousness for His name’s sake. This is the place where David found that he could be led by the great Shepherd and not fear evil, even in the valley that had shadows of death and appearances of abrupt endings. Life goes on if you follow the great Master of Life, and He will most definitely lead you into deeper waters of restoration where even evil is not feared because you have learned the hand of the great Leader! Hallelujah!

Influenced

There is enormous significance in the source of influence which sways differing personalities by persuasion of thought or opinion. This is exactly what happened in Eden, the Garden of God. In the Kingdom of God, persuasion comes by spiritual inspiration, revelation, and even supernatural attestation at times. The true saint operates on a separate platform of truth. We need to gain an understanding on these elements of authority to discern the extreme evil within things that seem to be so insignificant and innocent. There is a mystery of iniquity that has cloaked the church for centuries, but it has become more prevalent in this latter day than ever before. Could it be that evil has more influential power than does heavenly truth? The church of our modern-day longs after the world in so many ways. We look to the world for ideas and influences to pattern our lives after. We’ve regressed into numb neutrality so that we can be like the world and do like the world does. We run churches like profit centers and businesses to raise the American dream, rather than maintaining a heavenly scene of spiritual power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit. We apologize to the world and to sinners because we do not approve of sin. We have crept to the edge, trying to get as close to evil as we can while still in Christ.

The true saints of God are not enticed nor influenced by things seen or heard. The work of the Holy Spirit is a gentle raining of heavenly mist-like inspiration and spiritual gratitude that fills the soul with love, joy, and peace. The deathly nature of the world simply does not hold appeal to the true saints of God. We truly do not love the world, not even the things that are in the world. The thing that matters most for us is the power of the Holy Spirit to keep us in the purity and holiness of God. We despair over the realization of spiritual powerlessness. We spend hours in the Word of God for cleansing and understanding, as we seek His presence and to receive more of Him. We long to be influenced by Almighty God on a constant basis. We think about Christ all day long. His presence is real to us, and we plan our days accordingly so as not to neglect Him. He is like gentle rain to our soul. There are times when the influence of the Holy Spirit is so clear and abundant that it’s like receiving baptisms of Him for weeks and longer.
These are all things that the natural man finds foolish. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Let us remember once again—in the Kingdom of God, we are influenced by spiritual inspiration, heavenly enlightenment, and revelation from the presence of God. Our life is genuinely affected by our heavenly Father, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. When the presence of these spiritual influences is missing from our lives, we seek to be satisfied by other influences of fleshly enticement.

Have you ever noticed that certain people motivate you to live a Godly life? Have you also noticed that there are certain people that rob you of the love of God? It is all about influence. Ungodly personalities draw you away from God, even having the ability to do so in mere moments. Sanctified people of God draw you into His presence. They are influenced by heaven, and in turn, influence you in the same way. There are many spiritual thieves and robbers working in the name of Christianity with whom we rub elbows. Somehow, we think we ought to feel guilty that we do not want to be around them. Ask yourself this question: do my friends affect me towards a deeper walk with Jesus, or do they draw me away from Him? And remember—friends will do to you what you do to them, that is why you are friends!

Do I need to change my friendship with the world? Do I bring an influence of God-consciousness to them? Do people feel hesitant to cuss in your presence? Many times in my life I have prayed for true Christian friends. May I suggest that you do the same and ask the Lord to send the right people into your life, for friendship and for His glory. When God sends these people into your life, you cannot be possessive of them or they will not find friendship in you. The spiritual benefit goes both ways through heavenly influence, and oh yes, they are also a lot of fun! Hallelujah!!!

Tainted Influence

Here stands this powerful man of God before the Angel of the Lord, perhaps not even fully aware of what he was fighting within. There were so many troubling things that could not be understood. Why do I struggle with feeling guilty, or even filthy, yet I know I am not? I am a servant of the Most High God. I feel this sense of shame, and yet I know I am doing well. I am not aware of any sin in my life, yet I feel as though I am a sinner. Could it be that my ideas and expectations of a spiritual life exceed what true spirituality really is? Is there anything good within me? Can I even expect God to understand and help me when I am so needy? We can only imagine the thoughts this prophet of God may have contended with. Paul expressed similar experiences to us in his writings. 1 Corinthians 2:3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair. V. 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Many questions seemed to pervade these men, an apostle, and a prophet of God, as they continued in their faithfulness to the burden and calling upon their life.

Zechariah 3:3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and stood before the angel. V. 4 And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich apparel. The unseen truth that stands as absolute reality is unveiled here, and we see how God addressed this issue with His servant. Joshua was about to discover a startling reality. There was an enemy that had soiled his garments. Zechariah 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. Satan stood on his right hand as an accuser, resisting him in all that he did for Almighty God and His people. This evil presence had positioned itself as an influence within the mantle that he carried. It made him appear as a guilty, filthy man. This influence was present while Joshua was in the very presence of God and in the midst of his calling as he prevailed in faithfulness. Joshua was called by God for service and ministry as a high priest in the ancient days. It was the highest of callings on this man—a spiritual battle warrior, minister, and priest to the King of heaven and earth. Now this man of God finds himself clothed with filthy garments as he stands before the Holy Angel from Heaven. Was he filthy with sin issues? No, he was one of God’s saints and chiefly laden with purpose and responsibility. Joshua was called to higher purposes and heavenly duties. But as the task lay before him, there was a resister that stood on his right hand and the effects of a filthy, enemy-tainted influence upon him that felt completely ungodly.

There are many genuinely blood-washed saints today walking in the power of the full provision of Christ who yet wrestle with this mind-set. But they wrestle not against flesh and blood. The attacks of Satan can make the saint look as un-saintly as the filth of the enemy himself. This is the story of so many true children of God. When the enemy pursues the demise of these children he tries to taint them with filthy influences and dominate them through feelings of defeat and corruption. He does this because he knows they are the saints of God. When these true children of God see themselves as filthy, they become almost frozen in their duties. It causes great defeat in their walk with God. They fight discouragement and live in a state of crisis, feeling their relationship with Christ to be disjointed. They are tempted to think that perhaps God is their enemy.

In my 33 years of ministry I have never witnessed an outpouring of this unholy mess of dismay upon God’s people as I have in these last years. It seems to be the tool of the hour for discouraging the true children of God. These people are not wicked, but that is exactly how they feel about themselves. They are not hiding sin or justifying sin but living a life of purity and holiness before God. However, they become dismayed by a filth that has been cast upon them by the enemy. They are not sinners, yet they feel as though they are. They are not adulterers, yet they feel like they are. They are not liars, yet they feel like they are. They are told lies by an evil influence, and they carry around this complex, diminishing all hope and joy that they could rightly have.
The Lord said to the angel that stood before Joshua, ‘take the garments from him, and give him a change of raiment’. May God allow you dear people to see the spotless garments He has provided for you. In Heaven they will be clearly seen as the holy garments they are—clean, pure, and white!
Revelation 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? They came from earth and out of great tribulation, having blood-washed robes. And that is us, my dear friends.

Seeking After Righteousness

When a Christian seeks after righteousness, God expresses a unique love towards them. But what does this desire look like in real day-to-day life? Proverbs 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. So then, what is righteousness? Is it possible for someone to achieve true righteousness or is it only something we can follow after? Can something that must be followed after be granted back to the follower?

The apparent beautification and spiritual adornment upon the saints in Revelation 19:8 is that of something granted. When something is granted it is generally understood as perhaps an awarded gift but not something achieved by pursuit of something in anticipation of compensation. The righteousness that Abraham had was imputed from God and therefore not achieved. But although he desired for many years for the promise to be fulfilled, he did not noticeably pursue being righteous in the understood sense of the word. By believing God’s spoken word against all odds, the miraculous happened. I do not know that God ever told Abram that he must be righteous in order to receive the gigantic miracle of Isaac. It was given to him simply because he believed the promise of God against all the natural impossibilities.

We cannot waver when it comes to the promises of God nor consider them optional. The promises of God are His territory, and when we receive them we are on His property and within His ownership. So, we know that we must enter His property to receive His promises. But how can we know when we are upon the sovereign property of God? Once we are the property of God by His divine order of ownership we are deeded as His in covenantal recognition. In what manner and timing does this transaction take place? Man fulfills the criteria for receiving the outcome of God’s promise when his natural state of mind, being unbelief, is changed to the condition of simply believing. This is the entrance, or door, to kingdom living. It is the faith of the son of God as found in Galatians 2:20. This glorious place is a position of rest with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. This glorious place is one that most people cannot identify with. John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? The glory of God is the premises of God. Our walk with Christ is one of trust and faith in that which is finished. Our labor now transitions into believing without hesitation. I believe this to be the place where a life of prayer before God proceeds. It is the ministry that rests in faith and trust by the spoken word. Toil ceases when trust and faith begin.

The magnificent bride of Jesus is described as being arrayed in fineness—as in fine linen. Linen is a textile of exceptional coolness. A distinctive mark of the saints in the book of Revelation is that they are arrayed in sweatless service before God. This mark of sweatless service speaks of a deeper advancement into the kingdom of God that many do not experience. The service of many Christians is fraught with much sweat and turmoil.
As the saints of God move deeper, pressing into Holy of Holies, they take on a boldness that many cannot comprehend because of shallow and carnal representation. This spiritual boldness is not understood or clearly observed by the majority. It is, however, witnessed by a great cloud of spiritual witnesses.

To dwell in the secret place of the Most High is a surreptitious existence because it does not meet the approval of the carnal observer. It is viewed as myth or unrealistic imagination to some. Dwelling in this secret place is an astounding divergence from the way most experience the Christian life. The purified fineness of service, ministry, worship, and labor to our heavenly Father takes on a new meaning. Much of what we know in the realm of religion, and in the inner condition of the heart, is not describable as fine. This fine linen is clean and white, and these robes of pure white are called righteousness. Revelation 19:8 and to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. (Emphasis added.) This is the righteousness that was displayed upon Abraham after it was granted as a gift of grace because he believed.
Isaiah 51:1 Listen to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. (Emphasis added.) We were hewn out of the rock, found in the hole of a deep pit. Follow on, my Christian companion, and waver not at obstacles. What are obstacles to God anyway? They are stepping stones—steps of faith! Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. It is also apparent that righteousness is something that can be thirsted after. So, thirst and hunger after righteousness, you will be filled!

Hallelujah!

Sons of God – Part 4

Before the manifestation of the sons of God takes place at the end of the age, must there be a change of spiritual environment? I do believe there are sons of God in our day, though rarely manifested as such because of the strength of antagonism against true biblical faith. In our day, faith is mostly understood as a way of practicing a belief system of doctrinal associations. It is a lifestyle of repetitive practices and preferences rather than decisive obedience through the imprinting and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit must have complete access to His temple to be a daily source of empowerment, fulfilling the purposes of God on Earth. I want to underline the truth that it is not an impulse-driven drama of misinformed emotion that guides the people of God. It is most often within these carnal parameters that we find the development of denominationalism that has thrived since the second century. This was not from God and is not found in the Bible’s history. I believe there can be areas of importance in denominational separation such as specific times we find in church history. Important developments being the separation from the Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Anglican Church of England, and Lutheran church.

The Bible is undeniably clear about the intense anticipation within the creature and a great expectation for sons of God to come forth in manifestation. Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. The reality of this truth is that the power of the invisible God would again be obvious in a pure and apostolic authority upon the earth. This, I believe, will be witnessed as preparation before the return of Christ. Jesus will not return to a sick bride. He will return to one that is clean, spotless, holy, without blemish or wrinkles or anything remotely similar.

Where do we find any such earnest expectation for these sons to appear among us? Where are these children of God that are truly in anticipation for this truth to come forth? We must not misunderstand by thinking that great achievements and accomplishments of our own hands can replace that which can be achieved only in the spiritual world of divine consecration. Jealousy and competitive Christianity has ruled denominational agendas for years and must be replaced with a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness that few experience. There must be an atmospheric spiritual change among the professors of Christ to where they will welcome a deeper work of God—like in the days of Jesus and the Apostles.

The accumulation and summons of wealth that is hoarded in the name of contemporary evangelism is not what you will find in the manifestation of the sons of God. These manifested sons of God are not dream career-minded saints, driven by egos in pursuit of Christ. This move that God will bring upon the earth in the latter day will not come by self-seeking; it is the result of those seeking holiness and deep truth in Christ, willing to suffer the consequences so that the power of God can be manifested. The true, life-changing gospel does not come with human recognition. Rather, it seats us with Christ in heavenly places in Him. It is a place of faith in the promises of God. There is a place of true spiritual royalty where we reign with Christ in heavenly places—far above all principalities, powers, might, and dominion. This is a component of Christ’s inheritance with the saints. From Ephesians 1:18 it is paramount that the eyes of our understanding become enlightened; that we may know the hope of his calling, and what the riches are of His glory with the inheritance in the saints.

The true sons of God will always face rejection in the world’s environments because the power within is a threat to the unseen forces that exist. Those who have been used throughout the ages became familiar with rejection and the denial of pleasant reputation because of the places they have walked in secret. God has allowed these sons to be misunderstood so that they can stand before His very presence with nothing of themselves to present. These are they that stand before God as did Abraham, Elijah, and others of deeper usefulness. It is these who hold a purpose of holiness and consecration far deeper than is visible to the human mind and eye. Are all Christians sons of God? All have been given power to become the sons of God, the scripture’s wording clearly states that the power to become is not past tense. Does the power to become sons lie in the hands of the Holy Spirit?
I believe there is a spiritual movement coming at the close of the age that is more powerful than anything that has been witnessed on earth. This is a church that we clearly read about in the Apostolic age. It is a church that Christ presents to Himself—a glorious church not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing but it will be holy and without blemish. The power to bring such a church into existence can only be found in the advanced work of the Holy Spirit and by His unadulterated gifts in full function. Hallelujah!

Sons of God – Part 3

As we seek to understand the manifestation or demonstration of the sons of God, we must come to an understanding of their purpose and how they function. These are common people with unusual strength, and they are marked by demonstration of the Holy Spirit. These are not men of great notoriety among mankind but they are known in the heavens, this being the realm in which they operate. They are the Daniels, intervening before the throne of God pleading for His intervention in many different phases and regions of spiritual environments. The manifestations of the sons of God are more clearly manifested in the secret places of the Most High. They are known in the heavens among a cloud of witnesses but are still among the living on earth. Like all humans, these creatures of dust were formed by the hand of God, however after they found salvation in Christ they ceased not to follow after deeper spiritual perfection and usefulness such the Holy Spirit alone can produce within a willing pursuant.
Death and the ensuing resurrection comprise the victory through which these saints transform into holy sons of God, divinely fitted by the Holy Spirit. There are a thousand deaths someone like this will experience, creating a thirst for pure righteousness in the face of the weakness they wrestle with. The depth of spiritual familiarity within a true son, who walks in human flesh while yet reigning with Jesus, seems to isolate them to where the cost required for deeper discipleship dissipates. The sons of God on earth have the pedigree of pure unadulterated sonship, being separated unto the Father in a way far deeper than can be achieved by human effort. These sons have learned to move as the Holy Spirit leads them through deeper truth that can alone be known by courage in faith. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Emphasis added.) This verse answers the question of our own position. Many know very little about being led by the Holy Spirit, and further, take offense at the suggestion of its importance. These vessels of mercy have consecrated themselves for divine servanthood deeply desiring after the love of their master.
Days and years slip by as we see the world’s condition deteriorate into an assemblage of evil, the end fast approaching. The vast majority of Christians seem to be without influence or ideas as to what the true answer is. God will have a specific people of spiritual intervention to supplicate before Him, presenting appeals in accordance to the written word. This is the usefulness of His sons. God will call these to stand before Him in faith and present His spoken promises back to Him in the shaping of history till the end. 2 Corinthians 5:18 and all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. Reconciliation meaning restoration. God does depend on humans to fulfill His complete plan. I believe as the end approaches the Lord will do a new work on the earth. 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. I understand that the new heaven and new earth are yet to appear. We have no record that this has transpired since it was written by the hand of Peter. I believe that the manifestation of the sons of God will become much more visibly effective when this new thing transpires.
The enemies of God are bold and influential spirits that use the tree of knowledge to wage warfare against the kingdom of God. The ministry of sons of God is vast and encompasses many facets of true kingdom work. A great part of the tasks performed by these children of God is in proclaiming the finished work of the cross and the empowerment it brings. The voices of God’s sons must proclaim the power that has been delivered to them in Jesus. This will break the yokes of the imprisoned. This supreme intervention from Spirit-led saints has eternal importance. They have the power to intervene in the heavens where principalities and powers have clouded territories and laid claim with tribal-type strongholds.
These sons stand with great boldness in their secret closets as priests and kings unto the true God. They know the heart of God at a depth which few dare to pursue. They are the ones who find a position of purpose before God that can only exist by faith. They understand the kind of spiritual boldness that thrusts us through the veil that was severed in the temple at the death of Christ. These are those that lay before God with the cry, “Here am I”. Hallelujah!

Sons of God – Part 2

Our minds are pervaded with questions about the mystery and expectation of the manifestations of the sons of Almighty God. If the power has been granted to become sons of God, according to John 1:12, how does one become one? Is it by appointment? Is it by calling or exception? It is clearly written in the Bible that there are divine exceptions made for those that bear a deeper love for God. 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. V.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. (Emphasis added). In truth, this verse is not speaking about what heaven is like. It is speaking about function, provision, calling, and position through His written promises here on earth as kingdom occupants. Here we notice that the revelation of God is upon the ones who love Him in a deeper way than is commonly found acceptable in nominal Christianity. This is easily made clear since the shallow state of many professing Christians produces a great lack of understanding in anything deeper than that which the natural eyes perceive.

From among the children of God there are some who will not accept shallow faith and easy believe-ism as the faith of true disciples of Christ. These are the ones who have consecrated their lives to the deeper purposes of God, relinquishing the cost. They are not only willing to suffer if necessary unto greater perfection, but further are formed by the Spirit of God for purposes beyond what is seen or communicated through human perception. Their eyes of spiritual understanding are watching into the seeming dark, yet their vision is lit with shekinah light invisible to the human senses. This is a solemn place where natural light offers no understanding. These deeper lives pray back to heaven that which is revealed to them from the very throne of God concerning His promises and prophecies spoken by the ancients. These are they who live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. They are moved by the Spirit of God in communication with God in heavenly places in Christ. The usefulness of these saints is deeply spiritual. It is a place of position–seated with Christ. Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Emphasis added). The place described here is filled with spiritual priests and kings who have been seated with Christ, yet as though in obscurity and by the majority unnoticed. Within this spiritual minority, these have been formed solely by divine resurrection at the excellent hand of Christ. It is within these saints, unrevealed to the natural eye, that the power of true spiritual intercession and usefulness resides. These sons intervene by the voice of spiritual understanding and revelation in complete accordance with God’s word. Within their heart is an awareness designed to shatter spiritual legalities deemed as strongholds refusing to dissolve in people, culture, communities, and nations. Elijah, Daniel, Moses, and many others are an example of this function. Their effort was focused toward unions of adversity against God, even in governments and high places. These sons are not manifested in large numbers, but I believe as the end approaches God will increase them in number and magnificence.

Sons of God are servants of Almighty God and are sent to set things right in the way God has ordered. They are a direct threat against the kingdom of darkness. They shine the light of God in all they do. They are miracle carriers from the presence of God to do His work. They are spiritual fighters and fight by faith alone. They wrestle against principalities and powers and works of the darkness of this world. The spirits they fight against are experts in delusion seeking to direct God’s children to focus chiefly on the tree of knowledge. The distraction they present is in deciphering what is right or wrong, to keep those distracted from eating of the true tree of life. This was Satan’s first earthly battle against mankind and he won. We must remember, there is no life in pursuing what Adam and Eve pursued. There is no life in knowing what is right and wrong. Life comes alone from the tree of life.

May God lead us into a realm where He can make us useful in kingdom life, taking us beyond what is achieved by human ability! This place is in joint union with Jesus in heavenly places and is one that has no boundaries except human ability, and natural subjective theory at the tree of knowledge. Hallelujah!

Sons of God?

Where are the Sons of God? There is a great mystery and misinterpretation about man’s function in the Kingdom of God on Earth and the ability he is to perform with as an overcomer. There are numerous accounts where Jesus speaks about flesh and blood that give understanding on things not naturally perceived. After Jesus spoke to the disciples in John 6 Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Why is it that there are so many that seem so lifeless? It comes from having so little of Jesus within our life. The true sons of God do eat His flesh and drink His blood in a spiritual sense that the natural man finds no understanding in. Our flesh part of man needs exchanged by the flesh and body of Christ and so our blood has to be exchanged for His. The spiritual application seems insensitive but is very real. The spiritual son has distinct realities where he is given the option to put on Christ and suffer the consequences. It is at this point where our outer man must decrease.

As Jesus spoke more on the subject it became so offensive to them that many disciples left Him and walked no more with Him. We must never forget that the natural mind cannot receive anything from the Spirit of God. It is actually impossible according to the Bible. An easier way to understand this is simply that the Holy Spirit does not speak to the natural mind. Our flesh and blood cannot even inherit the kingdom of God and therefore there has to be a sovereign exchange. This exchange is clearly the sub-humiliation of the professing saints under the sphere of laying down our life for an eternal one that bears the nature and presence of Christ. This is not near anything that most Christians experience but is the only means given to become Christ-like in nature. These are sons of God. 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God… So how does this all work or how do we understand the deeper Christian life? Since these are facts concerning eternal life, it needs to concern us deeply about the deeper understanding of Christ’s gateway of salvation in a deeper sense than most ever walk in. Paul could not speak much about this because of their carnal condition as they were only on milk and carried the ability to hold offence. We clearly read Paul’s dilemma in 1 Corinthians 3.

I want to address this subject and the different facets of genuineness to draw us to truth. First, I find it important to understand what the Bible says about our needy mind. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. When a person has been transformed by salvation, something transpires from the throne of God that grants divine authority and opportunity for that soul to enter the door of divine sonship. It is alone possible through the narrow path of spiritual faith. It is absolutely not automatic but only a doorway. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: We understand that power to become offers a suggestion and not a final act of transition. God has granted this power to all them that choose to believe. Most have no idea what the Bible speaks about here and would even argue that all are sons yet could never confess that they would be themselves.

Among the deepest cries of spiritual earthen vessels is the spiritual expectation for the sons of God to manifest themselves as men of power and authority so great that even Satan trembles. Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. The earnest expectation of the creature speaks about anticipation, possibility and hope for the deeper work of the Holy Spirit. One distinguished criteria manifested in true sons of God is boldness through meekness that causes them to be led by the Holy Spirit always. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. True sons of God are at a loss without the Holy Spirit’s constant presence. It is a daily continuous relationship of cohesive action that divides the ties of the human understanding of spiritual things. I will write further on this subject for the next reading.
Hallelujah!
